Hey Guys,
Just a quick little update. I have not been up north since Bible Bow camp but I have been talking with reliable sources up north.
Salmon fishing is slowly winding down but there are still salmon to be had near the headwaters and below the dams. Haven't really heard what they are biting on but I would assume spawn bags like previous years would lead to an awesome bite. Given the colder water, they are starting to look for smaller and slower offering. Skein will still take fish but it's probably slowing down.
As for Steelhead, I have heard a lot of great reports ranging from the Grand river North to the Big Manistee. Spawn bags and egg flies floated behind reds have been hot. One of my buddies did pretty good running hot-n-tots and wiggle warts. Also, the normal runs that hold fish have been fishing really well.
For anyone who I have talked to about guiding the past two months, my insurance should be approved today and I should be able to guide by the weekend. If I gave you my card or phone number, give me a ring if your interested in a trip. I would love to get whoever interested into some fish and a great day on the river.
Our favorite time of the year is here, guys! Good Luck whether your hitting the woods or streams. Can't wait to hear about some adventures!
