Elk and Moose Hunting

I am looking to book an elk and moose hunts over the next couple of years.  Checking with the team to see if anyone has done it before and have recommendations.  My game plan is to do a bucket list hunt each year.  Got my first black bear on a trip to Canada.  So on to the next big game animal.    Have our dove openner on Sept. 2nd.  Spent the weekend, working on 3 different properties that I have permission to hunt on.  2 in NC and one in Virginia that is 190 acres with a few black bear…

Youth Skeet Shooting and Sporting Clays @ Detroit Sportman's Congress

Anyone with middle school-high school aged shooters may be interested in this program.  We ran into one of River's old baseball buddies who is in the program and loves it.  Please reach out to Coach Rick for more details.  It sounds like an excellent program.  We plan to go when we can, but it's not an all or every Sunday requirement.  Shooting is free for the youths, but you are required to buy shells through the club which runs $5/ box.  This is a great way to have your son/ daughter to learn…

21st Century Constellation Long Bow

Jim Ploen and Buddy Stampler were the designers and builders of this longbow. The design is based on the Holmegaard bows of ancient Denmark. which made it possible to shoot an arrow faster and  farther due to the light, long and stiff outer limbs that act as levers when propelling the arrow. It is smoother and has less shock, than other traditional bows. In 1998 a 21st Century bow won a shoot-out in open competition. It beat all comers including compound bows. The Constellation has 2 notch…

Kids in Camo 2019: Great Job Everyone!

Thanks to all the FAST team members and volunteers that made this another amazingly successful event.  I believe the final tally was 70+ kids and 40 of them were new to the Kids in Camo event.  We had a mom from Troy Campus bring her son, daughter (won shotgun at lunch), and their two friends in our group.  All were novices around firearms and archery.  They had a wonderful time and couldn't thank FAST enough for opening their eyes to target sports and hosting such a wonderful event.  We always…
