This years Getting Kids In Camo event was outstanding. It's been a few years since I last attended this event and I couldn't help but notice how it had grown into an event that lots of kids and parents truly enjoyed and appreciated. It was great to see dads with sons and daughters, moms with kids, mentors with kids and new friendships being made. The guys who volunteered from the Lapeer Co Sportsmen Club were really appreciated. They took obvious pride in their role in this event and it showed.

It sounds like Jim and Steve are looking to hand this event off to a new committed group of men who can continue the legacy of this great event and even take it to new levels. The groundwork has already been laid so it should be fairly simple to step in.

Don't forget to record Michigan Out of Doors to see if this event makes it on TV. In my area it airs on PBS on Thursday nights.
