I have struggled for awhile about writing this. I hope everyone reads this and prays about it.
If you asked me 3 years ago how many donations I have made to guys/people going on mission trips- the answer would have been ZERO. If you recall my letter requesting help on the mission trip I went on last year maybe you recall me saying it was one of the hardest letters I ever wrote. Asking for help is hard, asking for money is even harder. Most guys are reluctant to ask(we will get to this in a minute), but those that do I give them great credit. Lets start with the mission trip- The decision is a hard one. The time, the work and the money are all tough for us. The work part well that is just work(which actually turns out to be very rewarding). Time and money are the biggest issues. I think we all struggle with how much GOD gets or should I say how much we keep. Once you commit to the trip(mission) then comes the money. Sure writing a check for some of us is much easier than asking, but that isn't what we are suppose to do it. The whole idea is to get others vested in the trip. It's weird how once someone gives a little they feel like they are part of the trip. You stay in contact more, you reach out more and you pray more. The prayer is really the most important part. As Steve said last night(PRAYER IS SOME POWERFUL STUFF).
I want you pray about this:
1st if someone asks for a donation please try to give(even if it just a little)
2nd If you know someone is going on a trip look for a way to give-even if they don't ask.
I know this might get a little expensive, but like all good deeds the payoff is huge.
Can you imagine if every member on this site(300 plus) just gave $10 to everyone mission. It would fund almost all missions. Please give more if possible, but please think about giving something.
By making this public it points out just what a hypocrite I am. I hope by bringing it into the light it will help me. I myself struggle on giving, but plan to to pray more and give more. I hope you do to!!
