Fly Rods

Is anyone interested in selling a good quality fly rod? I am looking for a #5 weight(Winston, Orvis  , Redington) With or without reel. I am looking to upgrade from my $79.00 rod reel combo.  Thanks

  • Chris,

Im a huge fan of Ross Reels. check ebay for good deals, and extra spools. Also, from what i have heard, the cabellas reels are pretty decent

  • Judd,

I like my TFO Lefty Kreh Pro series 6wt so much I'm getting a 9wt too.  It's easy to cast and a great warranty.  Any recommendations on a reel for the 9 wt?  I looked at a Sage 1650 but the drag didn't feel right just playing around with it in the shop.  I'd love to know your thoughts.  I'm trying to keep the reel around $150.  Thanks in advance for the advice.

  • Would that guy have the initials C.S.
  • I know I guy who has some sweet bamboo rods.
  • Thank you
  • Hey Scott,

Check out TFO (Temple Fork Outfitters) Rods.  they cast just as good if not better (imho) than any $700+ sage, orvis, winston etc.. The thing with used rods is that the manufacturers lifetime warranty does not apply.  usually companies like TFO and others will have a lifetime warranty.  so when you leave the rod on top of the car, or behind the car and back over it and smash it to pieces (i speak from experience), you simply send it back and they send you a new rod, no questions asked.  You can pick up a sweet lefty kreh professional series for about $140 bucks. I hope that helps. i would sell you mine, but i like it too much:)
