Hello, I spoke with Sr. Marie several times this week. She has more info on the J family; their neighbor says they have NO furniture to speak of [they have a dining table & 2 end tables] No beds, dressers, chairs, lamps or couches....they're sleeping on the floor!!
The neighbor says the kids spend a lot of time at her house & she just loves them!!
So our plan is to deliver clothes & food Sun Dec. 23rd; then collect used furniture after Christmas & deliver as soon as we get what they need.
This is our biggest challenge ever so please feel free to join us in making this happen!! Our families names, etc. & their needs are below.
Dear Family & Friends,
Merry Christmas!!! We recently received Sr. Marie's of St. Luke's Parish info on the Detroit families she selected for us. We WELCOME used donations so there is more $ for food & personal care items. Xtra large clothing is expecially hard to fill. Here are this years' families:

#3: The D Family: Wiley has a serious seizure disorder that has him in/out of hospital; having a great deal of difficulty getting it under control. Shawanda tries to work but, of course, thanks to the unreliable Detroit bus system, that is a humungous challenge! They were recently evicted from their apartment; need towels, blankets and coats, boots, jeans & sweaters.
Wiley: 27y/o: size: 2X shoe: 12 Shawanda: 24y/o: size: 2X shoe: 8 1/2
We make sure our families get $100's of dollars worth of groceries/staples & personal care items; we will deliver everything to them Sun Dec. 23rd. Anything you are able to do is appreciated. Please keep the people of St. Luke's Parish in your prayers; the church has been closed by the diocese. Sr. Marie says most of the organizations that donated in the past deliver to the church, but this year there is no church to store the donations [church property was sold in Nov]. We are the only one she knows who deliver directly to the families.
THESE FAMILIES WILL HAVE A MEMORABLE CHRISTMAS AND FEEL CHRIST'S LOVE !!
God's blessings to you all, Kathi & Ron Rogers and Family
