I wanted to start a forum to see if there is any interest in starting a faith based archery program for kids. By involving kids into archery I think we accomplish a few goals. 1st it puts all kids on an equal field. Athletic or not any kid can learn to shoot a bow. It will give us an opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to bring their kids up. It gives us a great opportunity to give a great message and some bible studies to kids.
I wanted to touch base and find out who might be interested in forming some team/leadership on this.
My goal is to have 3-6 guys out in Lake Orion, 3-6 guys Eastside (Clinton Twp.) and the same for Troy and B'Ham. I think starting out we start with one location then move into other areas. The 1st location will depend on the number of guys interested in that area.
I think Chuck is very interested in starting one up at Lake Orion. East and B'Ham will have to find a bldg to hold this in. I plan to pursue all angles of this. I'm hoping if we get multiple guys, it will take the burden and time needed off all of us. The normal plan is to meet 1 a week for 8 weeks for 90 minutes of so. I guess to start I want to know who out there is interested or thinks this is a good idea.
Then we will approach Scott (kids out reach), we can then approach the finance committee and see if we can get funding for the setup.
Please pray about this and if you feel right about it speak up and get involved.
Remember we are reaching out to kids, but with them comes their family.
