AMMO SIZE OF POLICE DEPARTMENTS

HI GUYS, I AM LOOKING TO START A DISTRIBUTORSHIP FOR POLICE DEPARTMENTS TO BUY AMMO FROM AND WONDERED IF ANYONE HAS CONTACTS IN POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND ALSO WHAT SIZE IS THE MOST COMMON, .38 SPECIALS,9 M.M., 40 CALIBER OR SOMETHING ELSE? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.SCOTT HARPER

  • Scott, they use .40 cal and .223. My brother is a range officer for the Rochester force.

  • One of my connections told me that 75 - 80% of police now use 40 cal. ( mostly Glocks ). The other 20% use 9mm still. .38 specials are a thing of the past and as for tactical weapons used, it would be primarily .223 with AR 15's. Troy is one of the leading forces in this and they require all officers to get to the range at least once a month. He could try and get info on amount of ammunition used per month if you wanted info ?
