MEN NEEDED - PLEASE READ

Kensington Birmingham is partnering with 2 other churches, Genesis and Cana, to provide a warm, safe environment for area homeless people during the coldest weeks of winter.  More specifically, we are looking for men to take ONE late night shift (7:45pm to 2am) OR one early morning shift (1:45am to 7am) at a Warming Center that will be run out of Genesis Church in Royal Oak.  Kensington's serving nights will be any night from Friday, January 31 through Wednesday, February 5.  I understand this is a significant commitment and that not everyone may have the flexibility to work a night shift, but I'm asking that you think about it, pray about it, and decide if you can step up and help out.

There are other serving opportunities for this event if you would like to serve but can not do a night shift.  We will be providing meals (lunches and dinners for 80 people) and helping to serve the meals.  Additionally, we are providing rides to a nearby salon for the Warming Center guests to get free haircuts on the evening of Tuesday, February 4 and need drivers for this.  Also, we are taking donations of various clothing and personal care items but have the biggest need for men's and women's underwear and long underwear, especially sizes L, XL, XXL and 3XL.  Perhaps your small group or other family members would have an interest in some of these serving opportunities.

Official sign up for the Warming Center has begun.  You can read more detail and sign up at this link
