This week we are fishing at Trout Lake in the Bald Mountain State Park Rec area. This lake is known for excellent largemouth bass fishing and an occaational pike as long as your leg.

The lake is small, mostly shallow, has lots of weeds near the boat launch but once you get to the open water you have found the bass.  I have done very well fishing near the new Splash Mountain water park that extends into Trout Lake.  Try all around there.

Rubber worms, tubes and medium diving hard baits work best.  Topwater is usually good after the sun goes behind the trees.

We push off at 5pm so arrive by 4:45  This lake usually does better the later it gets so instead of 4:30 to 8pm we will go 5pm to 8;30.  Traffic on I-75 N can get ugly so plan to arrive early.

Hopefuly we will have some Bass Pro gift cards by then to win.

NOTE: You need a Receretion Passport to legally park at Bald Mountain.  If you don't have one let me know so we can arrange a ride in.

To get there come up Lapeer Rd north past Silverbell Rd. The State park entrance is about a 1/2 mile north of Silverbell Rd. on the right (east) side of Lapeer.  It's the first right past Hi Hill subdivision,
