I appreciate your and the the many welcoming comments since joining the group. Last weekend I also had a chance to meet Kyle, Steve and Craig - all genuinely nice guys who really made me feel a part of the group. Am looking forward to the upcoming meeting and sharing the Word and love of the outdoors. See you soon - Jeff
Thank you Chris. Yes, I used to live at Lahser and 16 Mile, but now at Coolidge and Maple. Troy Campus is about 2 miles further and I have been attending Birmingham for about 4 years now so that's kind of where I've dropped anchor. Thanks for the welcome note. I look forward to meeting you. Hal
Glad you like the picture,Chris. This time though, there wasn't much of a hunt. We went to a guy's house to pick up some Stall mats off Craig's list. The guy raised Deer to sell to people, Hunt clubs, and ? He just sold the last of his herd. Lydia was snooping around his garage and found them laying on the floor by a trash can and he told her she could have them.
We have been looking in our woods though. No luck yet. We got a nice 8 pt. on the trail cam Jan. 30 with his horns still. The kids are hoping they beat the squirrels.
Good luck! Hopefully you get something(s). I have an excellent place to coyote hunt at, but haven't had a chance to get out much this year. Maybe we can try a set-up there sometime and bag a few. Pulled a beautiful red fox off there last winter after dark.
Yes, Fathered by God was the renamed Way of the Wild Heart. I think because people were getting it confused with W@H. Walking with God is an excellent book as well, and I should read it again to help me cultivate that daily conversation with God. For me it seems like the radio is not quite tuned in clearly most of the time.
The new one is great in giving a back drop to all those comments Jesus seems to make that are like "What was that all about?!" It's really a great book to think about the personality of Jesus and not make him so heavenly aloof.
Thanks Chris, My small group of 3 is finishing the Fathered By God study. Great follow up to W@H. I'm reading his new book Beautiful Outlaw. It might be his best book yet. No joke. Ya, I have 2 little ones now. One of each. So I haven't been out as much as I'd like to. So I figure I'd I learn to hunt over the next 10 years or so ill be able to enjoy that with my kids when there ready and give more experiences for them to understand the larger story. I'd love to meet up some time. Hope we meet soon. Take care. Dan
