Profile Information

New to Kensington Community Church or interested in the Field and Stream Team (FAST), tell us a bit about your interests. If you're not new, tell us about your KCC experience, FAST, and your hobbies.
My wife, Danielle, and I started attending Kensington in 2006 and I joined FAST in late fall 2007 to connect with other men at KCC that love the outdoors. It's been one of the best decisions of my life. I have met great men through FAST and Kensington. They have been inspiring and have always been there in times of need. They have truly "sharpened" me as a man and I am very thankful for them. I joined FAST as a hack fisherman and wanted to get more into fly fishing. I also love to backpack, kayak, canoe, and spend extended trips outdoors anywhere. I've since picked up fly fishing, turkey hunting, and am looking forward to start bow hunting. FAST has provided me opportunities to learn from other men willing to share their time and knowledge. It has been a great experience and I look forward to the day I can help mentor others as well.
If attending Kensington Community Church, which campus do you regularly attend?

Wild at Heart - Small Group Starting up

Posted on September 8, 2010 at 10:07am 0 Comments

Hello Everyone,

You may have received an email from me about starting up a Wild at Heart (John Eldredge) small group this fall. Interest has been great so far. It's looking like Monday nights work best for most guys. For those that are interested or know someone that would enjoy getting into a small group here's a great opportunity to "cast the net" for friends, brothers, or any men in your lives that would enjoy connecting with other men of FAST in a small group study.…

FAST Listed on Ransomed Heart Allies List as a Michigan Ministry

Posted on September 1, 2010 at 12:00am 1 Comment

Before leaving for the Wild at Heart Boot Camp I asked Chuck and several of the guys about listing FAST on the Ransomed Heart web site. It's official! We're listed as a men's outdoor ministry which is on-going with links back to our site. This will allow other men searching for a "band of brothers" in the metro Detroit area to find the Field and Stream Team through the Ransomed Heart site.

Please go on the Allie Network, search for groups in Michigan, comment and rate our…

Breakaway canoe trip need chaperones

Posted on June 22, 2010 at 10:38am 0 Comments

Mike Rutan introduced me to Mitch Mountney on Sunday, of course I had on my Field and Stream Team shirt for Father's Day, and we started to discuss their need for chaperones for the Breakaway canoe trip the first weekend in August. Mitch emailed the information below and I put him in contact with Scott Harper. They need at least 8 guys for the weekend. This is a great opportunity for FAST to serve our Kensington Community, teach some kids to fish, fly fish, and help out at the camps or lunch… Continue

Thank you for the approval and an opportunity to join FAST.

I will try and make it to the next Monday meeting at Troy.

I should be working Security at Troy this Sunday (at least the first two services, that String Fling at Chuck's sounds like a blast), I'll be in a yellow polo, feel free to say hi if you're there.

Chris -

I appreciate your and the the many welcoming comments since joining the group.  Last weekend I also had a chance to meet Kyle, Steve and Craig - all genuinely nice guys who really made me feel a part of the group.  Am looking forward to the upcoming meeting and sharing the Word and love of the outdoors.  See you soon - Jeff

Thank you Chris.  Yes, I used to live at Lahser and 16 Mile, but now at Coolidge and Maple.  Troy Campus is about 2 miles further and I have been attending Birmingham for about 4 years now so that's kind of where I've dropped anchor.  Thanks for the welcome note.  I look forward to meeting you. Hal
